Shortcut Homemade Pizza Recipe

This shortcut homemade pizza recipe comes out so delicious. Using a store bought crust cuts prep time and you still have a tasty pizza pie everyone will love.

We love pizza night

During the week can get so hectic with work, school, running the kids around, you know what I’m talking about.

We all need and want convenience when stressed. But, during the week I really make it a rule no take out.

In my opinion that should be for weekends and “staycations.” If we are off from school and work. That’s a different story.

It’s very easy to order and have one delivered or pick one up on the way home from work but again, not during the week.

So, that leaves me to the “mom, we want pizza for dinner”. That’s what I used to hear during the week.

What to do, hmmm. Make your own pizza at home!

Every week, I buy a different crust either a large one or smaller crusts so we can make our own individual pizza pies.

Some weeks, we all are adventurous and we roll out our dough. The local markets sell pizza dough in the refrigerated section  of the grocery stores or in the deli department. You would just follow the directions on the bag.

Sometimes pizza restaurants will let you purchase a prepared dough as well. We have done that once or twice.

Pick your own toppings…

You know not everyone likes the same toppings and some of us don’t like any toppings. That can be tricky with any family. In my family we usually agree on the toppings or no toppings for that week. But, it is fun to create you own pizza once in a while.

This is the one night a week, we all helped out with making dinner. I lay out the crust or crusts, mozzarella and parmesan cheese, sometime provolone (my favorite) with all the fun toppings.

Usually I’m in charge of making those such as the sautéed onions, peppers, sausage, meatballs (frozen one), pepperoni. You get the picture.

It’s really a great way to spend time together during a weeknight in the kitchen.

Delicious Hot Right From The Oven…

Best part of course is digging into the homemade pizza. Delicious and hot right out of the oven. You can’t say that about take-out.

This recipe below is our basic pizza made with a store bought pizza crust that is in the bread section of the grocery store. Usually hanging on the wall next to all the bread. If you can’t find this crust, ask someone in customer service. I think almost every grocery store carries these in large and individual. Also comes in whole wheat.

Can This Be Made Gluten Free…

Many markets sell a few varieties of frozen gluten free pizza crusts as well as the new cauliflower crusts. We tried those a few times. My daughter and I were fans the hubby and son, a no go. So, keep in mind there’s lots of varieties out there these days.

Grab your crust and your favorite toppings and bake your pizza and have your own pizza night in your home!
