Here is a delectable smoothie to be enjoyed anytime of day.
I like that is has a good amount of fiber and protein with the right amount of good carbs for energy.
It’s very fast and easy to put together and makes about 2 servings.
My husband and son love this on busy weekdays. If we are leaving around the same time, we all toast to a great day ahead!
Pick Me Up Smoothie
Yields: 2 servings
What You’ll Need To Make A Pick Me Up Smoothie…
Here Are The Ingredients:
- 1 medium to large banana
- 6 oz vanilla or plain Greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups calcium fortified orange juice, I used Tropicana
- 2 cups frozen sliced strawberries (with no sugar, the ingredients on the bag should only have strawberries)
- 2 tablespoons flaxseeds or flax meal, I like the Golden Flax, Bob’s Golden Flax Meal or Bob’s Red Mill Golden Flaxseeds
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, I used Quest Vanilla Milkshake whey/casein blend
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave nectar, or any sweetener of choice. You can leave out too.
- 1 cup ice cubes, add more if you like the smoothie extra thick
- 1/8 to 1/4 cup cold water or milk of choice

Directions:
- Place all ingredients in blender and whirl until smooth and creamy. That’s it!

- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, I used Quest Vanilla Milkshake whey/casein blend
- 1 tbsp honey or agave, leave out or use any sweetener of choice
- 1 cup ice cubes, make sure the ice is fresh
- 1/8 to 1/4 cup cold water or milk of choice
