Halloween is just as much fun for the kiddos as it is for the adults, especially for me, when I go to play my favorite Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus, which came out in 1993.
If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s about a young boy (Max) who moves to Salem Massachusetts and accidentally frees a trio of evil sister witches—Winifred, Sarah and Mary, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.
With the help of a magical cat, Max must steal the witches’ book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal.
That’s all I’m going to tell you because it’s seriously too good of a Halloween classic to spoil it for you,
Look for the movie on local and cable stations or purchase a copy online to enjoy every year around Halloween.
Then, settle in to watch with my Copycat version of Starbucks Hocus Pocus Mary Frappe. You are going to love it!

What’s In This Copycat Starbucks Hocus Pocus Mary Frappe…
Since this movie is such a hit each year, there are three themed Frappuccino’s that have surfaced in many Starbucks cafes since the beginning of September.
These witchy frappes are not on the regular menu. However, this is even more of a reason to copycat them at home. You could tell the barista what’s in each Hocus Pocus drink and that could get tricky, but, I will tell you how to order from Starbucks and I will give you my easy version of this Halloween drink.
I picked The Mary to share with you. The reason being, it seems to be the most popular.
Probably because it’s like drinking a chocolate-covered strawberry and who wouldn’t want that?!
Get the recipe below. But, first here’s the cheat sheet on ordering the three frapped at Starbucks.
The Winifred: Start with a Grande green tea Frappuccino, to that add one pump white mocha and one pump peppermint syrup. After that’s combined, add whipped cream on top and strawberry inclusion drizzled over the whipped cream.
The Mary: You have the recipe below, but here’s how to order it at Starbucks. Just a note: Sometimes the Mary comes out lighter and creamier looking like my recipe and sometimes it comes out darker with larger streaks of strawberry inclusion. This all depends on what you tell the barista. You can decide when you get ready to order. Start with a Grande Starbucks Strawberries and Crème Frappuccino, add in strawberry inclusion and instead of the regular sweetener ask for the white mocha. Before they pour the frappe into the Grande cup, have them drizzle strawberry inclusion and mocha syrup on the bottom of the cup and on the sides of the cup. Then, pour the frappe into the cup and top with whipped cream. Drizzle more strawberry inclusion and mocha drizzle over the whipped cream.
The Sarah: Start with a violet drink base in a Grande cup. Add extra berries. Ask the barista to sub out the coconut milk for soy milk, you can sub almond milk if you don’t care for soy milk. Ask them to blend the drink twice. Add whip cream and top that with a dusting of ground ginger or ginger powder.
There you have it. now, get ready to copy the Mary Frappe so you can enjoy one right away. You are going to love it!
My son Josh and I purchased The Mary a week ago (after explaining it to our barista) and I knew right then and there, I had to make this at home.
It’s expensive to buy these delicious beverages at Starbucks and with the ingredients in the house, why not make it myself? Now we can whirl one up anytime we want—no trickery involved.
