Here’s a Fun Starbucks Fact…

Starbucks’ came out with their Eggnog Latte back in 1986 and it was so popular around the holidays that they still serve this hot latte to this day.

Although, I recently read that some states have taken it off the menu, which is even more reason to try it at home!

Copycat Starbucks Eggnog Latte

Yields: 1 latte (about 12 ounces, Starbucks’ Tall size)

Below are the four ingredients to make this wonderful latte…

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 to 1 cup refrigerated eggnog
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice, dairy, almond, oat, soy, cashew all work. I used almond for this recipe
  • 1 shot espresso or, 1/4 cup strong coffee. Regular or decaf will both work
  • 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • whipped cream, I used aerosol from the can

How is this eggnog latte made…

Directions:

  1. Prepare espresso or coffee, keep hot while getting the other ingredients ready.
  2. Heat the eggnog and milk in the microwave in a microwave safe measuring cup or mason jar. I heated the milks about 45 seconds. Tested and put back in for another 30 seconds. Then, I covered a mason jar with the mixture and shook for about 20 seconds. When you open the lid the mixture should be frothy. Here’s my method that’s on the blog. 3 Simple Steps To Steam/Froth Milk In The Microwave
  3. Pour the hot espresso or coffee into a mug. Now, pour the mixture over the coffee. No need to stir.
  4. Add whipped cream to the top and sprinkle with nutmeg. Even if you don’t use the whipped cream, add the nutmeg on top of the hot drink. That’s it! So simple and comes out so good!
