Baked Brie In Puffed Pastry
This baked Brie in Puffed Pastry is so simple and easy to make but looks so fancy when served. It’s my go-to appetizer that everyone raves over. Bake one up and you’ll know what I’m taking about, enjoy!
This recipe for baked brie is one that I have been serving for years and years.
My mom Ruthie would serve this to her bridge ladies. She showed me how to make this when I was about 11 years old.
As a child, I even loved this recipe. Maybe because I saw all the ladies enjoying this when they took their break from playing cards and would chat and eat. I felt so grown up.
Anyway, you can make this with a variety of add-ins or leave it with just the brie baked in the puffed pastry.
If you have not had brie before, it’s totally delicious and somewhat mild tasting cheese with a creamy texture under the rind which is usually eaten. Just like in this recipe.
Easy to find in the grocery in the cheese section of course and in specialty food shops. I got mine right in my local market.
Now, on to the puffed pastry, it’s great when you don’t have to make your own. You buy this in the frozen department of your grocery store then just defrost the sheets you will be using.
I love puffed pastry for so many recipes, both sweet and savory. I think this one is both, sweet from the honey and savory from the nuts and cheese itself.
Try this for your next gathering. It’s a show stopper and oh so delectable.
My mom always called it divine. ❤️

Wrapped up before being brushed with butter or an egg wash
Here’s the easy way of preparing your baked brie in puffed pastry
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Toss a little flour on a flat work surface. Unroll the puffed pastry.
- Put a little flour on a rolling pin and gently roll out into a square. About 11 inches or so.
- Place the brie wheel in the center of the puffed pastry. Coat the top with honey. Add the nuts and cranberries right onto the honey surface.
- Start wrapping the brie with the pastry like you would a package or gift. Brush the pastry with butter or the egg as you are folding. (It doesn’t matter how neat this is, it’s going to bake up just fine.) You want the butter to act like glue. When you are done folding the pastry dough. Brush the remaining butter all over the top and sides.
- Transfer the wrapped brie to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 20 to 30 minutes or until pastry is golden brown. Check after 20 minutes. When done, take out and serve with crackers, carrot stick, celery sticks or crusty bread.
Enjoy the cheesy deliciousness!
