4 Ingredient Lemon Garlic Aioli

This simple spread can be used for so many different recipes to add a great punch of flavor with a smooth, creamy texture. Check out what it’s made of and what you’ve been missing!

Do you know what “Aioli” actually is?

Well, if not, I’ll tell you right here.

It’s really just a fancy way of saying garlic mayonnaise.

You’ll see aioli on a lot of menus in French restaurants and nowadays in many other restaurants when they want to make something sound fancy.

Basically it starts with a store bought or if you feel adventurous, a homemade mayo. Then, garlic is almost always added. Sometimes that’s all there is in the creamy spread.

Depending on the restaurant, and the theme of the dish, anything can be added for a more distinctive flavor.

In my recipe here, I made it similar to a place my husband and I recently had dinner. A nice seafood restaurant in our neighborhood.

I had the broiled salmon with the Dijon Aioli. It was light, creamy and made the fish taste amazing.

Just a little goes a long way.

Check out the easy-peasy recipe below.

This aioli recipe is great as a sandwich spread, on fish, steak, and love it on veggies.

Enjoy with your favorite dishes, you are sure to love the way it makes an ordinary dish pop with flavor!

4 Ingredient Lemon Garlic Aioli

Yields: a little over 1/2 cup

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp stone ground or Dijon mustard
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper, this is optional
  • dash coarse salt and pepper to taste, this is optional

Directions:

  1. Combine mayo, lemon juice, minced garlic, and mustard in a small mixing bowl. Using a small whisk, combine until creamy and smooth.
  2. Taste. Add a drop more lemon juice or mustard if you want a bolder taste. Now would be the time to add in salt and pepper and cayenne pepper for more spice. Otherwise, place in fridge for 30 minutes for the flavors to meld. Store leftover covered in fridge up to 2 days.

Enjoy the creamy, tangy deliciousness!
