Quick and Easy Patriotic Chocolate Bark

Here’s a quick and easy recipe that looks festive and tastes oh so scrumptious. This quick and easy patriotic chocolate bark is hard to resist. Enjoy every last bite!

This past weekend my sister Rhonda and my three nieces came to visit.

Wendy and her two daughters Zoey and Eva.

My son Josh and Eva are only 4 days apart. They look and act like brother and sister and most people think they are twins.

We love spending time with them and since they live up in New England, we can drive there or they come here a bunch of times during the year.

Anyway, getting back to this recipe.

We are a family of chocoholics. Every single one of us love any kind of chocolate.

Since July 4th is around the corner, I wanted to have a fun, festive and patriotic dessert everyone would love.

We ordered in Chinese food for dinner then, I took this out of the fridge.

It was still in a large slab. That’s when we all had a go at breaking pieces off and digging into this delectable chocolate bark.

I should have taken pictures of everyone munching down on the bark.

The recipe is so easy to prepare that I made it a half hour before they arrived for the weekend.

Once dinner was done, the chocolate bark was set and ready to serve.

We ended up finishing it by Saturday night along with the ice cream we picked up.

A lot of yummy eating this weekend to say the least.

Why don’t you give this easy-peasy chocolate bark recipe a try.

Go crazy with the toppings. The skies the limit. Add some pretzels for a salty sweet bark.

Anyway is the right way. It’s chocolate!!

Quick and Easy Patriotic Chocolate Bark

Yields: about 4 cups

♥️ 🤍 💙

There’s only 5 simple ingredients in this yummy recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chocolate chips, I used milk and semisweet
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp solid coconut oil, shortening, or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup toppings such as M&Ms
  • 1/4 cup red white and blue sprinkles

This is how the chocolate bark is made

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
  2. In a microwave safe bowl, add chips and oil. Heat for 25 second increments. Stir after each heating. When melted and smooth, add the 2 tablespoons of chips. Stir until melted into the bowl of chocolate.
  3. Using a rubber spatula, spread chocolate in an even layer onto lined pan. Let sit for just a minute then toss toppings over entire slab of chocolate.
  4. Chill until firm, about 2 hours. Take out and break into uneven shards.

*Recipe Note: Store in an airtight container in fridge up to 5 days.

Fun to make and so yummy!
