Copycat Starbucks Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha

To my fellow coffee lovers. This is my newest recipe for a most delicious coffee beverage and it’s a Copycat Starbucks Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha. I love this iced coffee drink so much I practically have one everyday. It covers both a cup of iced coffee and dessert at the same time. Try this easy recipe at home, it’s so good!

The first time I heard about this drink was on Instagram. Two of the stars from my favorite soap opera, General Hospital were talking about this in a story. They kept raving about how they stop at Starbucks on the way to the set and order a Starbucks Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha

They also talked about another Starbucks coffee drink. I’m working on that one and as soon as I make it again, I will shoot the photos and get it up here right away.  In the meantime, I really hope you love this one. It’s beyond easy to make right in your own kitchen. In fact, it’s easy enough to make at the office too.

My daughter who is an attorney goes into her office just a couple days a week since she works from home most of the time.

She told me everything she needed to make one was already at her office. So, she went for it. She couldn’t believe how simple this recipe was and it also was a real treat to make one for herself and not have to spend the big bucks.

Now she makes this at home and at work whenever she feels like a chilled mocha beverage.

Taste Testing Is Very Important…

Before I decided to post a new copycat Starbucks beverage here o my blog, it had to be tested out by my daughter and a few of my friends. I need them to tell me if something was missing in the taste that compared to the original Starbucks Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha Beverage.

I had each of them taste both versions and had them sipping cold water in-between to clear their pallet.

The funny thing is, they loved both of the beverages and said that they tasted the same.

That was all I need to hear.

This was the recipe that I was keeping and now posting here on my blog for everyone to enjoy and be able to save money too.

By the way, I do this with all my copycat recipes from beverages, savory dishes and desserts. My family members are the taste testers for so many other recipes.

Recipe note: You can use regular chocolate syrup such as Hershey’s special dark chocolate syrup, Hershey’s sugar free chocolate syrup,  Fox’s U-Bet chocolate syrup, or sugar free chocolate syrup.  Highlighted suggestion is in the ingredient sections All work well for this recipe. All depends if you want a “skinny” version or the original. It’s good to have options.

One more recipe note: You can use any kind of milk you choose. I like this with dairy milk and almond or oat milk. You can even go really indulgent and use heavy cream or half and half. Of course if you like it black, don’t add in any kind of milk.
