Copycat Starbucks Iced Café Mocha

Hello to my coffee loving friends. Here’s another copycat Starbucks iced café mocha beverage that I’m happy to be sharing with you today. It’s one I bet you and I will be having repeatedly all summer long and well into the fall.

This recipe is so simple and easy to prepare in just a few minutes.

For all of you that are not sure how you feel about coffee, you may just want to make one of these at home, it’s so delicious that for me it’s like a dessert and coffee all in one.

The first time I heard about this drink was on Instagram.

Two of the stars from my favorite soap opera, General Hospital, were talking about this in a story and they kept talking about how they stop at Starbucks on the way to the set each morning and order their new favorite coffee drink.

It’s the one I’m telling you about today called Iced Café Mocha.

They also mentioned another iced coffee drink called Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha which is very similar. It’s highlighted for you so you can hop over to check that one out. I guess the obvious difference is that this one today is topped off with whipped cream. There’s a few other minor differences too.

Just like all my copycat recipes, I always do a taste-test of both beverages together.

When I’m confident it’s a winner meaning it passed my test for deliciousness and meets the copycat challenge, I’ll have a couple of my friends let me know what their thoughts are.

No one ever complains when asked to help me out. Why would they? LOL!

I have each of them taste both versions and had them sipping cold water in-between to clear their pallet.

Happy to report both friends who did the tasting loved both and told me they didn’t know which one was the original and which one was my version.

To be honest, this happens with just about all my tastings. Another win!

If you are also a coffee lover, please make this for yourself, it’s totally delicious. The combo of coffee and chocolate is irresistible.

How to Make a Starbucks Iced Café Mocha

Directions:

  1. Prepare espresso or coffee.
  2. Pour into a heatproof mug or large heatproof glass measuring cup.
  3. While still hot, whisk in the chocolate syrup and cocoa powder. Keep stirring or whisking to cool off a bit. When combined, put in fridge or freezer just for a few minutes. Take out and whisk or stir again.
