Frozen Chocolate Banana Bites

This is such a great, fun dessert for both kids and adults. A great way to get kids to eat fruit and a good recipe to make together since there’s no cooking or baking involved. Frozen Banana Bites are really delish! Just four ingredients to cool yumminess.

 

 

I’ve been making these frozen banana bites since 2011. It was late spring.

My son Josh was just five years old and my daughter Tori was in her first year of high school.

I was going to pick my son up from preschool in a few hours but, wanted to have a snack ready for him.

I had one small banana left. I remember because before he was picked up, I was running into the market to pick up a few items and bananas were on my list.

Anyway, I grabbed a a few other ingredients and made these yummy banana bites.

Popped them in the freezer and then was out the door.

A few hours later, we were home. So was Tori before she was off to dance. Back in the car again but first, frozen banana bites!

We took those gems out of the freezer and we all snacked on them. So good!

Now, we all make these regularly. Tori is married and she makes these at night for her and hubby to snack on.

She’s a huge banana fan and loves the combo of bananas and chocolate. Who doesn’t?!

Josh is old enough for him to make these kinds of snacks all the time so he sure does and makes a mess in the kitchen to show for it. LOL!

Frozen Chocolate Banana Bites

Servings: 1 whole banana with toppings

Nutrition: 1 serving (one banana sliced plus all listed ingredients): calories 107, fat 0.4g, carbs 28.1g, fiber 3.6g, protein 2.1g

What you’ll need to make a batch of frozen chocolate banana bites…

Ingredients:

• 1 small banana
• 2 slightly heaping tablespoons Cool Whip
• 3/4 tablespoon Hershey chocolate syrup
• 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips

 

How are these yummy frozen chocolate banana bites made…

Directions:

1. Slice the banana in 1/2 inch chunks.
2. Mix the Cool Whip and syrup until blended and dollop on top of the slices of banana.
3. Freeze for 30 minutes. Take out and gently place a few chocolate chips on the tops of each banana piece. It’s okay if the chips sink a little. Put back in the freezer and freeze for 4 hours. When you take them out of the freezer you may want them to sit a minute or two.

I like them very frozen but my husband and kids like the banana a little softer. You just don’t want them to sit too long because you want the topping to stay cool.
