Fresh Strawberry Jam
My fresh strawberry jam has all the flavor of traditional jam, but it’s much quicker and easier to make. This easy recipe is perfect for whipping up a batch of fresh jam for breakfast or brunch without spending an inordinate amount of time in the kitchen.
I love homemade jam, but I don’t love spending a ton of time in the kitchen. With this recipe, I can have the best of both worlds. Using arrowroot or cornstarch allows me to get the perfect jam texture with much less stovetop work, and it comes out just as delicious as traditional jam. Win!
Fresh Strawberry Jam
This jam starts with sliced fresh strawberries that I mash with a potato masher until it’s almost smooth but not quite.(You can make it smoother or chunkier. Each time I make a batch it’s different) Then, I make a syrup of fresh lemon juice and coconut sugar and mix it with the mashed strawberries.
Finally, I simmer for a few more minutes and add the arrowroot or cornstarch. I simmer for just a few more minutes, and I have fresh, delicious jam. The entire process only takes about 25 minutes from start to finish!
