Chocolate Chip Cannoli Cones

This is a fun and simple recipe to make for company or any special weeknight dessert. These chocolate chip cannoli cones are the new rave with our friends and family members. Now, they make these for their own families and friends too. Check out what I usually call these cone-oli cones and enjoy!

This is one of the easiest dessert recipes that is also a no-bake one with 6 ingredients total. Takes about 5 minutes to put together and then just refrigerate for an hour to set up a little.

This has become a requested dessert with a bunch of our friends and their kids.

Both the adults and kids love it.

I made this one time for a pot luck dinner party and then after that whenever that group gets together, they ask me to make this dessert to bring along.

A simple and easy shortcut cannoli recipe that you make in ice cream sugar cones.

This recipe yields 2 servings so you can share it with someone special. Of course, double, triple the recipe when making for more people like I did for a group of 12.

Make this the next time you don’t want to put the oven on and you still want a sweet treat. Since this recipe is for two servings, you can easily make this for a weeknight dessert for two or just double if you’re four. Maybe have everyone dip their own cone once it comes out of the fridge. Have fun!

Chocolate Chip Cannoli Cones

Yields: 2 cones

What you’ll need to make chocolate chip cannoli cones…

Ingredients:

  • 2 ice cream cones, you can use chocolate (Oreo) cones too. Sometimes hard to find but nice mixing them up
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese, I used part skim for this recipe, whole ricotta works great though
  • 6 tablespoons Cool Whip or TruWhip, I used Cool Whip Lite for this recipe
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons mini chocolate chips plus 2 more to dip the cones in
  • 2 servings (half box) Jell-O vanilla pudding mix (powder) I used sugar free for this recipe, regular works great too
  • Optional ingredients:
  • 1/8 teaspoon orange extract, this is optional and sometimes I do add this instead of the vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest, also optional when using the orange extract
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pecans, optional
  • 2 tablespoons mini cinnamon chips, optional
  • 2 tablespoon diced dried fruit, raisins and apricots are a good choice if using

Here’s the three steps to make some chocolate chip cannoli cones…

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients (except for the 2 remaining tablespoons mini chocolate chips to dip cones into) together until smooth. You can use a hand mixer, wire whisk or just a fork and then rubber spatula. This depends on how silky and smooth you like the pastry filling.
  2. Divide filling into each sugar cone.
  3. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Take out and dip each cone into the remaining mini chocolate chips and put back in fridge for another 30 minutes.

Enjoy the deliciousness!
