For a delicious side dish or dessert, try this simple recipe from my dear friend Regina. Enjoy!

Apples make a fabulous side dish to any pork dinner.  By enjoying the natural sweetness with just a pinch of honey it’s not just a lovely dessert but a healthy addition to dinner as well as breakfast over oatmeal and yogurt.

Apple Cinnamon Sauté

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples (peeled, cored & sliced)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp apple pie spice
  • 1 – 2 tsp cold water,  more if needed

Directions:

  1. Melt butter in pan, then add the apples. Sauté for 10 minutes on medium until the apples begin to soften.
  2. Add honey, cinnamon and apple pie spice. Stir and cook for another 5 minutes until al dente. Depending on the apples you have chosen you may have to add water along the way. This will keep the apples moist and prevent them from sticking to the pan.

ENJOY!
