Seasoned Air Fryer Chicken Wings
This recipe for seasoned air fryer chicken wings comes out perfectly seasoned and crispy. Using an air fryer is just so easy and you are going to love these wings and so will everyone you serve them to.
I have been using an air fryer for a while now and, totally in love with it.
My family is loving all the yummy dishes that come out of the air fryer.
My son loves making frozen French fries and refrigerator slice up cookies.
He happens to love experimenting with recipes so I feel safe with him using the air fryer.
Now, getting on to this recipe. What I like about this one is you can use frozen or fresh wings and drumettes.
When the frozen packages go on sale I buy a few and stock up. It’s a money and time saver.
The recipe has basically 3 ingredients. Chicken, seasoning, and a little olive oil. But, you’ll see the 4th ingredient. I really like the sweet addition.
The wings come out crispy and just perfect.
No deep frying and you don’t even need to turn your oven on. This is a popular dish at any gathering
I serve these every super bowl and they are always requested at our friends potluck dinners.
You can eat them hot from the air fryer or they taste just as delicious at room temperature.
When I tell you there are never leftovers, I’m being serious.
My son likes them cold from the fridge. After they are made I promise him I will save a few and stick in the fridge for later on.
I’m letting you in on my secret to making a really crispy wing. You must dry off the wings really well with paper towels. This ensures the wings will get get extra crispy.
If you don’t dry them off, they won’t come out crispy. I learned from trial and error.
Check out this simple recipe. You can use any seasoning of choice. This time around I used a Cajun seasoning.
Sometimes, I use lemon pepper or a really spicy seasoning for my daughter when she comes to visit.
She went to college up in Buffalo and got used to the famous Buffalo wings pretty fast.
She loves anything and everything spicy. So, I suggest to serve with a cool dressing such as ranch or blue cheese.
You can have some celery sticks and carrots along with the dressing if you make them extra hot and spicy. Have fun and enjoy!
Seasoned Air Fryer Chicken Wings
Yields: 30 prepared wings
Here’s what you’ll need to make these delicious seasoned air fryer chicken wings…
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds fresh or frozen chicken wings, drumettes, or a mixture (about 30 wings)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 to 4 tbsp your favorite seasoning, for this recipe I used Cajun
- 1 to 2 tsp brown sugar, this is optional, mix with seasoning if using.
Here’s how to make seasoned air fryer chicken wings…
Directions:
- Take chicken out of package. If frozen thaw completely in fridge. Rinse the wings in cold water, this is optional.
- Lay out paper towels. Double or triple one on top of the other. Lay the wings and with more paper towels pat dry. Make sure you get all the moisture off.
- Coat the wings with olive oil. I used a silicone pastry brush. Then sprinkle seasoning over each wing and drumette. You can also place chicken in a bowl and add seasoning and coat the wings that way. It’s just a little messy but it does coat them well.
- Spray wire racks with a little cooking spray. Place chicken in air fryer. Try to make a single layer so all the wings can get crispy. If you have to do this in batches , just leave seasoned chicken in the fridge until you are ready for the next batch.
- Set air fryer at 380 degrees. Cook for 15 minutes. Pause the air fryer and turn over each wing. Cook another 10 to 12 minutes. Increase temperature to 400 degrees and cook another 5 to 7 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or dressing.
