If you have been on this blog before, you know there are a few other hot chocolate drinks such as this one…Extra Dark Hot Chocolate
I wanted to make up something different this time.
My son Josh needed the car but, I had some errands to run and he offered to drive and then drop me off when finished. (He recently got his license and is always willing to drive anywhere these days) I needed a few things at the supermarket and instead of sitting in the car while blasting his music and glued to his phone, he offered to come in with me. That means, he’s planning on looking for goodies. He was off and went right to the ice cream aisle. When he met me at the checkout line, he was carrying a bunch of “stuff’. Of course, ice cream and whipped cream from a can, along with chocolate syrup. He had a bag of mixed up chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and little tiny graham crackers. It was on sale so I let him get it. (Since then, we couldn’t find that item anymore. So, since then, I just use mini marshmallows or the marshmallow bits, milk chocolate chips, and crunched up graham crackers or any cookie I have in the house.)
Josh was going to put that mixture on his ice cream but, I thought about making S’mores hot chocolate. It was bitter cold that day and I knew that would hit the spot when we got home. When I finish posting this recipe, going to make this s’more hot chocolate again. It’s really delish. Try this simple and fun recipe for a different and special like of hot chocolate. Hope you love it like we all do here.

What you’ll need to make a nice big mug of s’mores hot chocolate…
Ingredients:
- 5 cups milk, whole or 2 percent
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons Dutch-processed unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons marshmallow cream or syrup, found in the ice cream department by the sprinkles, or use marshmallow fluff
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, this is optional
- 1/2 pinch sea or kosher salt
- 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
- chocolate syrup or hot fudge sauce
- baking chips or a mixture of mini chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and crunched up graham crackers
- whipped cream for topping, I used the one from the can
There’s only one simple step to make s’mores hot chocolate…
Directions:
- In a medium saucepan, add all ingredients except the chips topping and whipped cream. Cook and stir over low to medium heat until all is combined and hot. No need to boil! Just until you see some steam coming from the mixture. Stir to make sure white chocolate chips are melted. Pour into mugs, add whipped cream and toppings.
Enjoy every warm sip!
