For this recipe I made 12 cookies. Easily doubled or tripled for a larger amount.

We love giving these as gifts to friends, neighbors and teachers.

Chocolate Dipped Christmas Oreos

Yields: 12 cookies

Here’s what you’ll need to make this yummy and festive recipe…

Ingredients:

  • 12 Oreo cookies
  • 1 cup semi sweet or milk chocolate chips, you can use white chocolate too
  • colored nonpareils and sprinkles, I used Christmas sprinkles and nonpareils for this recipe, found at craft stores or online here

Use one or both chocolate chips for this recipe. You can also melt them together.

Use an assortment

Three easy steps is all it takes to make these yummy treats…

Directions:

  1. In a microwave safe bowl, or glass measuring cup, melt chips for 20 second intervals (stir in between each 20 second interval). Because this is a small amount it shouldn’t take more than 2 times in the microwave for the chocolate to melt. Stir until smooth and completely melted.
  2. Lay out wax paper and dip each cookie in the melted chocolate (a quarter of the cookie should be dipped). Use a small rubber spatula to help you smooth the chocolate and, of course, to get every last drop of the chocolate out of the bowl (yum).
  3. When all cookies are dipped sprinkle the nonpareils over the dipped melted chocolate and let set up. You can place in fridge to expedite this step.

Go grab a cold, refreshing glass of  milk and ENJOY this wonderful holiday treat! HO, HO, HO!

Before leaving, here is another fun to make and yummy Christmas treat…
