If you have been on my blog before, you know there’s a bunch of shortcut recipes that are both sweet and savory.
I love cooking and baking the “shortcut” way.
Let’s face it, we are all busy with family, work, and all the other day to day things we have to cram in.
These cookies were made one day when I was rushing around with the holiday season having just begun, there was a lot of stuff to take care of as well as all the other day to day things that had to be done.
However, I had promised my son we would bake a batch of cookies with the new bag of peppermint M&Ms.
He really was looking forward to us making them together even though he is capable of baking these himself. He’s 14 and loves being in the kitchen baking and creating really delicious main dishes too.
We like to make holiday treats together. It’s kind of a tradition.
So, I grabbed one of my many trusty boxes of cake mix along with just a few more ingredients and the peppermint M&Ms I was planning on devouring that night and we got to baking.
These cookies came out so yummy that I made a second batch to bring over to my daughter since she just moved into her new house. I knew her boyfriend would be there and her roommate. She said the cookies were eaten up in about 30 minutes. LOL!
Since we didn’t use the whole bag of M&Ms, there were still some left for the second batch. I still had a few for munching on later that night.
Bake a batch and taste the dark chocolate peppermint deliciousness.
