Dainty Tea Cookies

Thanks to my dearest friend Regina for sharing these beautiful and dainty tea cookies. Only a few ingredients and you have a buttery, melt in your mouth cookie that’s the perfect Christmas or anytime cookie. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp fine sea or kosher salt
  • 1 tsp extract (almond, brandy, vanilla, rum…your choice)
  • red and green maraschino cherries, cut in half

Instructions

  1. 1.Preheat oven to 450 to 500 degrees

    2.Sift together flour & salt.

    3.Cream butter and sugar.

    4.Add egg and mix thoroughly.

    5.Add dry ingredients.

    6.Add extract.

    7.Put into a cookie gun with the flower disk.

    8.Press onto un-greased pans. Then add a 1/2 candied cherry into the middle of each cookie.

    9.Bake for about 4- 6 minutes. Do not let them burn. Cool on wire racks. Enjoy!
