Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow butter or yellow cake mix
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1-2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 sticks(1 pound) unsalted butter, softened
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter a 15″ x 10″ or similar baking dish. Prepare the cake mix as directed and bake for only 20 minutes in baking dish. Mix remaining ingredients in a large bowl with a pastry bender or clean hands. Sprinkle crumbs onto hot cake, then return to oven for 10 to 15 minutes more.  Be sure to test for doneness. Check with wooden skewer or toothpick, dry to moist crumbs or no crumbs. When cooled, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.  Enjoy!
