Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole grain bread or bread of choice, toasted
  • 2 5 ounce cans of solid white albacore tuna, either in oil or water, then drained
  • 1/8 to 1/4 cup mayo I used Helman’s light, but regular is great too
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons tablespoons sweet pickle relish, drained slightly
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder or dried onion flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, this is optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt, more or less to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper, more or less to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Add all the tuna salad ingredients to a medium or large mixing bowl so you have plenty of space to mash and mix. 2. Using the largest fork you have, mash the ingredients until mix thoroughly and you reach your desired texture. 3. Toast the bread, then place 2 big scoops on top of 1 slice of toast. Top with lettuce and another piece of toast. Slice and enjoy!
