Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour, you can try a 1 to 1 gluten free or oat flour too
  • 1 cup  granulated sugar, you can use coconut sugar or any no calorie/low calorie sweetener of choice. Just make sure to measure to so it’s equal to regular
  • 1 cup milk, I used daily milk, almond milk should work too
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted, you can try a vegan butter too
  • 1/4 tsp  salt, I used fine sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp  vanilla extract
  • Enough fresh sliced strawberries to cover the batter

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 400. Wash and slice the strawberries, discarding the tops.

2.Melt a stick of butter in a 9×9 baking dish or two smaller ceramic baking dishes

    3. Combine the flour, sugar, salt, milk, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.

    4. Pour the batter over the melted butter and place the sliced strawberries on top of it.

    5. Bake for 25 minutes (for the smaller baking pans, bake for about 15 to 20 minutes) or until the batter rises to the top and becomes golden brown. Enjoy!
