Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup whole milk or half and half, you can use dairy free milk too
  • 1 cup  fresh ice, this is important for best taste, more if needed
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream, this is optional, but adds a great richness to the frappe
  • 1/4 tsp xanthan gum, Starbucks uses this for added thickness, you can substitute with 1 teaspoon instant vanilla pudding mix, regular or sugar free. Or, leave out.
  • 2 ounces  caramel syrup, some will be used to drizzle on the inside of the cup and on top of the whipped cream. Sugar free syrup can be used in its place.
  • 1 ounce  toffee nut syrup, regular or sugar free save a teaspoon to drizzle over the top of the whipped cream. If you can’t find at your local market you can buy online or substitute with butterscotch syrup.
  • 1 shot of espresso or strong coffee, this is optional

Instructions

  1. Start by putting the ice in the blender. Blend to break up the ice cubes just a bit. Add the milk, vanilla, ice cream if using, xanthan gum or dry pudding, and both syrups. Remember to save some caramel syrup to drizzle the inside of the cup and both syrups to drizzle on top of the whipped cream. Whirl in the blender until nice and thick. If needed add more ice. While again and pour into prepared cup. That’s it! Enjoy every last thick, luscious sip!
