Chef Salad Recipe

This easy chef salad recipe is a delightful combination of garden veggies, meat, cheese, and eggs. Romaine lettuce is mixed with onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, green peppers, meat, cheese, and eggs. Then, it’s topped with your dressing of choice to make a delicious salad that’s guaranteed to satisfy.

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 cups Romaine Lettuce, rinsed and patted dry
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup sliced cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 2 to 3 hard boiled eggs, cubed or halved
  • 1/4 cup olives of choice
  • 1 medium green pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 pound deli meat(s) of choice
  • 4 thinly sliced and then cut into strips, cheese of choice
  • a few hot peppers or mild peppers, this is optional
  • salad dressing of choice

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Construct the Salad

    Wash and dry the lettuce, then layer it in a large bowl or platter. (I used a cutting board that I cut the veggies on.) Prepare the vegetables and layer them over the lettuce in groups. Then, cut the hard boiled eggs and place them in another section on the lettuce. Finally, cut the meat and cheese into strips and layer them on the lettuce, as well. 

    Drizzle with your favorite dressing and enjoy!
