Copycat Starbucks Dirty Chai Latte

Starbucks is out with a new latte that’s on their latest secret menu. It’s gone viral and we can taste why everyone’s gotta have one, or two! Here’s my copycat Starbucks dirty chai latte version. It’s really similar and so delish. Try this simple and easy recipe, you’re going to love it too.

  • 2 to 3 chai tea bags, any brand you like
  • 1/2 cup boiled water
  • 1 1/2 cups milk of choice, I like almond and oat milk, but dairy milk works too
  • 1 to 2 tbsp honey, for vegan use maple syrup or agave or any granulated sugar
  • 1 to 2 ounces  hot espresso, up to 1/4 cup, you can use strong coffee in place of espresso


  1. Make your espresso or coffee and have it ready to serve.Bring water to a boil. Have one cup ready with the two tea bags inside. Pour the boiling water over the tea bags.Add honey and stir. Let steep for about 5 minutes. In a small saucepan, heat the milk on medium heat until hot. Take the tea bags out of the glass and pour the tea into the pot of hot milk. Using a frother, mix until the tea and milk gets frothy.(I just purchased this frother and love it) This only takes about 30 seconds to a minute and the frothing step is optional. If you don’t have a frother, follow these 3 simple steps to steam/froth milk in the microwave.Have two cups ready, pour half of the espresso into each cup. Add in the tea mixture. Froth again right in each cup. That’s it! Enjoy!!
