Homestyle Slow Cooker Chicken and Potatoes

  • 4-6 boneless and skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth, I used the carton of low sodium chicken broth
  • 2 russet potatoes cup up into large chunks
  • 1 package baby carrots, or 2 large carrots cut up
  • 1 onion cut up
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp coarse sea or kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • more stock or water if needed


  1. 1.Sprinkle olive oil on the bottom of the slow cooker/

    2.Place the chicken breast on the bottom, it’s okay if they overlap.

    3.Toss the carrots and potatoes along with the onion and seasonings over the chicken then pour in the chicken stock and ketchup.

    4.Cover and turn on high for about 4 to 5 hours or low for about 8 hours. Juices should run clear when chicken is done. Plate up and serve over egg noodles or rice. Enjoy!
