  • 3-3 1/2 cups small potatoes

  • 1/2 whole cabbage head, cut into large chunks
  • 1 cup beef broth, low sodium if possible
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp each kosher salt and black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 2 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric, this is optional

  1. 1. Rinse meat with cold water, trim off any excess fat. Remove seasoning packet (It’s not used in this recipe), set meat aside for just a minute.

2.Layer carrots and cut up onion on the bottom of slow cooker. Then, add the potatoes around the edge of the slow cooker, see photo.

3.Place meat fat side up on top of vegetables. Pour in beef stock. Add in garlic powder or crushed garlic along with salt, pepper and turmeric if using.

4.Cook on low 8 to 9 hours. After 7 hours, add in the cut up cabbage. Check and see if you need to add a drop more stock or water. Cook the additional time remaining. Check to see if the meat is tender. If not after 8 hours, cook the additional hour or so.

5.When meat if tender, slice up against the grain. Time to plate up! Decorate the serving plate with all the veggies. Enjoy this delicious home-style recipe!
