How to Make White Chocolate Cherry Fudge

This is an incredibly easy recipe to make, and it’s finished in just a few minutes. You’ll find the general steps below. Check out the recipe card at the end of the post for the exact instructions.

Step 1: Make the Fudge

Melt all ingredients except maraschino cherries and mini chocolate chips in a pot over medium-low heat. Then, fold in the chopped cherries and mini chocolate chips.

Step 2: Top and Chill

Pour the fudge mixture into a prepared dish and top with more chopped cherries and mini chocolate chips. Then, chill in the refrigerator overnight. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Variations

This fudge is delicious just as it is, but I have some fun ways that you can switch things up if you like.

  • Use milk, dark, or semi-sweet mini chocolate chips to change up the flavor of this fudge.
  • Add chopped pecans, walnuts, or almonds for more flavor and a little crunch.
  • Make chocolate cherry fudge by replacing the white chocolate with an equal amount of milk, dark, or semi-sweet chocolate chips.

If this white chocolate fudge sounds good to you, then you’re going to love this pink and white fudge with fun sprinkles.

Equipment

You’ll only need a handful of simple kitchen items to make this easy fudge recipe.

  • Medium pot
  • Wooden spoon
  • Spatula
  • 8×8 dish
  • Parchment paper
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Storage

You can store this fudge in an air-tight container for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator. For longer storage, you can freeze it in an air-tight, freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.

Tips

There’s really nothing to this recipe, so there aren’t a lot of tips for it. The ones I do have for you are simple, but they’re very important to remember.

  • Heat your fudge mixture over low to medium-low heat and no higher. You want a gentle melt that won’t scorch the chocolate.
  • It’s important that you chill your fudge overnight for the best texture.

FAQ

Do you have questions about this tasty recipe? The following FAQ answers the most commonly asked questions about this fudge.

Who invented Cherry Garcia?

Cherry Garcia was invented in 1987 by Ben and Jerry’s as a nod to Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead Rock Band.

What are maraschino cherries?

They’re preserved, sweetened cherries made from cherries like Royal Ann, Rainier, or Gold cherries.

Why is my fudge mixture thick and lumpy?

If you melt your mixture over heat that’s too high, the chocolate can seize, causing it to get overly thick, lumpy or chunky, and even scorch.
