Triple Chocolate Pudding Dump Cake

Triple chocolate deliciousness! That’s what this triple chocolate pudding cake is all about. Bake one up soon and taste for yourself how amazing this cake is. Enjoy!!

If you are a chocolate lover, you will LOVE this cake.

It is a very easy recipe to prepare and always comes out with a perfect texture and a most delectable chocolate flavor.

The recipe has gone crazy all over the internet in the past few years.

Between Pinterest and Facebook with all the shares and pinning going on, the recipe went viral. It was my most popular recipe for a few years in a row.

Buzzfeed  named this cake one of their top 19 favorite Dump Cakes in 2015. That was so exciting to hear about that article.

In 2016 this cake was named in Tasty for one of their 15 most popular Lazy Dump Dump Desserts

In 2017 I did a post for Parade Magazine on  5 Cake Mix Dump Cake Recipes – Great Last Minute Dessert Ideas

I happen to be a weekly contributor for Parade and this was one of my first posts for them. I had a hard time finding this one. Since then, I have posted this cake with other cake recipes for a larger articles.

I can tell you this, when most people see the photo of the cake and see how easy the recipe looks, they want to make it. Then, once they taste how delicious it is, they love it.

Great for a last minute dessert, takes no time at all to throw this simple cake recipe together. Dump, mix, and stir. That’s why it’s the easiest dump cake you’ll make. On top of that, it’s totally delicious.

Serve alone or with a scoop of ice cream and whipped topping. YUM!

Triple Chocolate Pudding Dump Cake

Yields: 9 to 12 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix ( dry mix only)
  • 1 small package instant chocolate pudding mix, you can use sugar free
  • 1 1/2 cups milk, whole, 2 percent work well, almond milk, soy and rice milk will not work for this recipe
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbs milk
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips, I used milk chocolate
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling on top, this is optional

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray or grease an 8 or 9 inch square pan, (I used glass) set aside.
  2. Prepare pudding mix with 1 1/2 cups milk. Using a large mixing bowl, add prepared pudding into dry cake mix along with the 2 tablespoons milk and vanilla extract. Stir with a wooden spoon or heavy rubber spatula until all is combined. Make sure you dig deep to incorporate all the dry mix. Batter will be very thick. Spread evenly into prepared pan and scatter chips over top.
  3. Bake for about 25 minutes. Try not to over bake. Wooden skewer or toothpick should come out with moist crumbs. Let cool on a wire rack.
  4. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Slice into 9 or 12 squares.

Enjoy the chocolate deliciousness!
