St. Patrick’s Day Chocolate Pretzel Rods 

Here’s an easy and yummy food craft you and the family will have fun making. Enjoy these sweet and salty St. Patrick’s Day Chocolate Pretzel Rods.

 

Here’s to another fun St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

Every year my kids and I make up fun and yummy edible gifts to give to teachers, neighbors and family.

Everyone loves receiving a green package filled with something special.

Today we made these fun and oh, so delicious candy-coated St. Patrick’s Day Chocolate Pretzel Rods.

This recipe couldn’t be easier, not to mention lots of fun. Can’t forget messy. But, that’s part of the fun when a food project is messy. I’m sure you agree. 😉 

Add your favorite toppings for your own touch.

Remember, you can switch around the colored candy coating and toppings for any occasion. These are great for birthday parties and favors or just when you want to give someone special a delicious treat.

INGREDIENTS AT A GLANCE…

 

Here Are Ingredients:

  • pretzel rods
  • green candy melts (like Wilton)
  • green M&M’s
  • shamrock-shaped candy, optional
  • green and white sprinkles

HOW ARE THESE SWEET AMD SALTY PRETZEL RODS MADE?

Here Are The Fun And Simple Directions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper.
  2. In a large glass bowl, melt candy melts according to package directions, or in 30-second increments in microwave, stirring between. When completely melted, continue stirring until shiny.
  3. Dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate and use a rubber spatula to smooth out. Let excess drip off.
  4. Dip pretzel rods into toppings or spread rods out on lined baking sheet and sprinkle with toppings.
  5. Place in fridge to set for up to 30 minutes. Trim if needed.

Recipe Note: If you can’t find green candy melts, add green food coloring to melted vanilla almond bark.
