Hugs And Kisses Cookies XOXO

Makes 48 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 tube (16 ounces) refrigerated Pillsbury sugar cookie dough
  • 48 Hershey’s Mini Kisses — found with the other baking chips
  • 2 tbsp unbleached flour, not sifted
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar, not sifted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract or 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 – 2 tbsp cinnamon sugar mixture, optional

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and have 3 cookie sheets ready, lined with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the whole tube of the cookie dough along with the flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon and the extract.
  3. Mix well with clean hands or a wooden spoon.
  4. When all mixed, chill dough in fridge for about 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from fridge and roll up into 48 little balls of dough; about a teaspoon or so each. Place on cookie sheets.
  6. Bake about 9-10 minutes on the middle rack. After 5 minutes, turn the pan around for even baking. Remember, we always bake one cookie sheet at a time.
  7. Cookies will be done when they are puffed up, set in the center, and the bottom is light brown. Transfer cookie sheet to cooling rack and gently press a mini kiss in the center of each cookie.
  8. Cool for about 3-5 minutes. After that, you can slide the parchment paper off the cookie sheet onto the cooling rack and let the cookies firm and set.
  9. Repeat steps 5 through 7 until all of the cookies are done.
  10. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar lightly over each cookie.
