This copycat Starbucks caramel macchiato is so easy and simple to make. Comes out tasting so similar to the original. But, I may add a little more caramel to mine. Yum!

What can I say? I love everything Starbucks!
Because I can’t go out and buy one of my favorite beverages or bakery items on a daily basis, it was time to start creating my own versions of my favorites right at home.
So, that’s what I have been doing for a while now. You can scroll around and find your favorites. Warning you, it’s going to be hard to pick just one.
The hot beverage featured today is called a Caramel Macchiato.
If you are a caramel fan, this one is for you. It just may become a favorite of yours.
The whole recipe only has four ingredients. You may already have these ingredients sitting in your pantry and fridge.
If not, don’t worry, these are basic everyday ingredients that you can pick up at your local grocery store.
The recipe is so versatile that you can make it with espresso, strong coffee, or even decaf coffee. Also, this can be made sugar free. You can use regular or sugar free caramel syrup. The sell both in the markets as well as Target and Walmart.
I do that some late nights when I want something soothing and sweet that’s not going to keep me up after I drink it.
Some mornings this is the first thing I will make for myself. I can eat or drink something sweet anytime of day or night so, this is the perfect cup of coffee to satisfy my sweet tooth while enjoying my morning coffee.

Since this is so simple to make, grab a to-go cup and make it right in there and be on your way.
Just a fun fact… Macchiato means “stained or marked” That’s what you are basically doing when you make this hot drink. You will be slowly pouring the hot coffee into the steamed milk to stain it. You’ll see, it’s very cool to make one of these and fun too.

Yields: 1 Large/Grande
What’s in a copycat Starbucks caramel macchiato…
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups milk, any milk of choice will work. Almond and soy milk work well too
- 1 to 2 tbsp vanilla syrup, found in most markets or on Amazon
- 1/2 cup hot espresso, strong coffee, decaf works too
- caramel sauce to drizzle on top and around the rim of the mug. Homemade or found in the ice cream topping section of the market – Regular or sugar free
How to make a copycat Starbucks caramel macchiato…
Directions:
- Prepare espresso or coffee. At the same time, steam/froth the milk with these 3 simple steps
- Have a nice big mug ready. Line the rim of the mug with caramel using a small spoon or butter knife. Pour in the frothy milk. Pour coffee into a measuring cup or pitcher that can hold hot beverages, add the vanilla syrup to the coffee and stir to combine.
- Stream the coffee over the frothy milk. You’ll see the “stain.”
- Now, drizzle the caramel over the top. That’s it!

- 1 - 2 tbsp vanilla syrup
- 1/2 cup hot strong coffee, espresso, or decaf
