A delicious minty thick shake. It certainty is delicious.

The only problem is it’s loaded and I mean loaded with lots of fat and calories.

Well, I came up with my version that is not loaded with all those high calories and fat but, this version still has the creamy, thick and delicious taste like the original.

Copycat McDonald’s Shamrock Shake

The Guilt Free Way!

MOST COMMON QUESTION ABOUT THIS LUSCIOUS SHAKE IS, HOW IS THIS GUILT FREE? WHAT GOES INTO MAKING A SHAMROCK SHAKE GUILT FREE?

The answer is an easy one, I just swapped out high fat ice cream and milk for a lower fat version. Not fat free, just lower in fat and calories. This way you still have the delicious mouth feel and taste of a traditionally McDonalds Shamrock Shake only with a lot less calories and fat. I promise this version tastes delicious!

Here Are The Everyday Ingredients To Make A Copycat McDonalds Shamrock Shake – The Guilt Free Way

  •  1/2 cup skim, 1 or 2 percent milk
  •  3/4 cup low fat vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt, I used Breyers all natural
  •  all natural stevia or any no calorie sweetener
  •  peppermint extract, start with 1/8 tsp
  • 3 to 5 drops natural green food coloring, start with 3, OR, use 1/2 cup Spinach
  • 2 to 3 fresh ice cubes
  • Toppings
  •  aerosol whipped topping
  • a maraschino cherry, optional
  •  colored sprinkles, optional

THIS GUILT FREE SHAMROCK SHAKE IS A SNAP TO PREPARE

Here Are The Simple Two Step Directions:

  1. Pour ingredients except toppings into blender, put lid on. Whir until  smooth. Stop after 3o seconds and stir a few times with a rubber spatula and to scrape down sides if needed. Put the lid back on and whir again. Tastes for sweetness. If you need to add the other half of the stevia packet, do so and whirl for just a second or two.
  2. Pour into a tall glass. Top with whipped topping and cherry.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup low fat milk

  • 1/8- 1/4 tsp peppermint extract, start with 1/8 tsp
  • 3-5 drops green food coloring or use 1/2 cup spinach

  • 3 tbsp aerosol whipped topping
  • green sprinkles, optional
  • 1 maraschino cherry
