Apple Nachos Two Ways
Each one of these yummy recipes for apple nachos two ways is fun and really easy to make with the kiddos and great for adults anytime you’re looking for something fresh, sweet, crunchy, you name it!

We are big apple lovers in my house.
So, I made this with my kids for many years. Now that’s they are both grown, I make these regularly for my hubby and myself. Adults love this so much that I make this when we have company. Everyone can grab a few pieces and everyone really enjoys the crunchy apples with whatever toppings are drizzled and tossed over the fresh apples.
When it’s apple picking season, we try all different kinds and varieties of apples are so but, our favorite apple is always the Gala Apple. It’s just the right amount of sweetness for eating plain and especially for these Quick and Easy Apple Nachos.
However, during the spring and summer with all the other fruits that are out such as melons and the stone fruits, we still seem to love making these nachos using apples. It happens to be a nice change from all the other summer fruits. The original photo I took was while sitting in the backyard with my family. I put toppings we love on the apples. But, go ahead and put your own spin on it — be creative.
See those little fingers? That’s my little guy, Josh’s hand in the picture. (He was 5 years old then) Josh is now 17, almost 18 and is over 6 feet tall.
That’s how long I’ve been making these. I remember that day so well, it was really sunny out and since I put them on the outdoor table, the sun was shining on the plate. When I took the photos, I had no idea I’d be a food blogger back then.
Since Josh’s hand was in one of the photos, I ended up taking a few and kept all of photos and pulled them out a few years ago.
Quick and Easy Apple Nachos
Yields 3 servings
What you’ll need to make both of these apple nachos recipes…
Ingredients for caramel nachos:
- 1 large or 2 small Gala apples, or your favorite type of apple — we love Gala’s because they are sweet and crisp
- 4 tbsp caramel syrup or honey
- 2 tbsp sweetened coconut; you can also toast the coconut for a few minutes in the oven for a nuttier flavor
- 2 tbsp mini semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp orange or lemon juice – preferably freshly squeezed (optional)
Directions:
- Wash and dry the apple. Slice very thin.
- Measure out syrup or honey and microwave only about 7-10 seconds until warm and runny.
- Distribute your sliced apples on the plate and squeeze the lemon or orange juice over the apples.
- Drizzle sauce over the apples and then sprinkle the coconut and mini chips on top.
Ingredients for chocolate peanut butter apple nachos:
- 1 to 2 large apples of choice
- 1 to 2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
- 1 to 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon solid coconut oil, this is optional
- 1 1/2 teaspoons mini chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 teaspoons coarsely chopped or cut in half roasted peanuts
- 1 teaspoon fresh orange juice, this is optional
Directions:
- Melt the peanut butter for a few seconds in a microwave safe dish. About 15 seconds. Take out, stir and if it’s a little thinned out that’s good. Set aside.
- Place chocolate chips with coconut oil in a microwave safe dish and heat for 15 to 20 seconds. Take out, stir, put back in the microwave for about 7 seconds. Take out, stir again until melted and shiny. Set aside
- Wash and dry the apple. Slice very thin. Arrange on a medium size plate or platter in a circle. Start from the outside and work towards the middle. If you are using the fresh orange juice, drizzle over the apples.
- Now, stir the peanut butter and make sure it’s still pourable. If needed, put back in the microwave for a few seconds. Using the spoon, drizzle over all the apples. Do the same with the melted chocolate. Drizzle until all the chocolate is finished. Why waste any chocolate?! LOL!
- Toss the chopped peanuts and mini chips over and you are now ready to dig in.
