Ingredients

  • 2 cans cream of mushroom or cream of broccoli soup, don’t add any water or milk
  • 2 16 ounce bags frozen cut green beans, cooked and drained (this step is important)
  • 1 cup milk, I used whole milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp soy sauce, I used low sodium (the ingredient that we think makes this casserole taste fabulous)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp white or black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups French fried onions, the kind in a can or foil bag
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric, this is optional

Instructions

  1. 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13 x 9 baking dish (just got this one and love it, not the one in photo) with cooking spray and set aside.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine soup, milk, and, pepper, soy sauce and turmeric if using. Gently stir in the green beans.

3.Pour half of the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Gently smooth out. Crunch up about a half cup of the fried onions and sprinkle over the top. Spoon the remaining mixture over and add the rest of the onions on top. This time don’t crunch them up. Spread out evenly.

4.Bake for about 25 to 35 minutes. The onions should be brown and crispy. Try not to over bake, you don’t want the onions to burn. The casserole should be heated through when done. Let sit out for about 5 minutes to set then serve up!
