Ingredients

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil such as canola
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, I used clear I got from a craft store
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup assorted sprinkles

For Chocolate Hearts

  • 12 ounce bag chocolate melts such as Wilton

Instructions

  1. 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2.In a microwave safe bowl, heat chocolate on 20 second increments. After each heating, stir. Chocolate should be shiny and smooth when melted. Try not to over heat.

3.Pour chocolate into ziploc bag and press all the way into one corner. Snip off the end. Fill small heart molds. Place mold onto small lined cookie sheet. Place in fridge for about 25 minutes. If needed place in freezer for 10 minutes to completely harden.

4.While the chocolate is setting in fridge. Mix cookie ingredients except sprinkles in a large mixing bowl. Make sure you dig deep to incorporate all the dry into the wet. After mixed, fold in sprinkles until combined.

5.Scoop out 2 tablespoons of batter into each large heart mold that’s sitting on a large lined cookie sheet. With clean fingers smoosh down to for the heart. Bake for about 7 to 10 minutes. Check after 7 minutes. Take out and let cool for just a few minutes. Press one chocolate heart into each center of cookie. Let set up and cool then pop the cookies out. Enjoy!!
