Now, this pumpkin syrup is a new kind of recipe that I hadn’t even thought about until a new Starbucks pumpkin latte came out recently. It actually may have been on Starbucks menu a while ago, maybe even last year, but they brought it back again this pumpkin season which starts around the beginning of September.

So, this is the reason for the recipe being shared with you today. When at Starbucks recently, I ordered their Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. I asked the barista what the ingredients that was in the pumpkin spice latte. She told me that they use a sweet pumpkin syrup that’s pumped into the latte.

Well, I had to find a pumpkin syrup right away because the pumpkin spice latte was calling my name to make right away. Looking online at Amazon and checking out Target and Walmart for a syrup was not an easy task. I didn’t like all the ingredients that were on the bottle of syrups Way too many I couldn’t even understand how to pronounce.

I thought to myself, Pam you’re a food blogger, make your own pumpkin syrup. I’m so glad I did. This beyond easy recipe came out so delicious. It’s hard not sticking a spoon in the jar to eat the syrup by right out of the jar. That’s how good it is!

Like I wrote above, there are so many great uses for this thick and sweet pumpkin syrup and here are a few suggestions…

Besides putting into any pumpkin latte, it’s great over ice cream, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, vanilla pudding, layered in rice pudding for a parfait, and as a base for a creamy, sweet pumpkin dip. I’m sure you will think of more uses was well.

  2. Once the syrup has boiled and the syrup looks smooth (if the syrup is too thick, you can add a little more water to thin out) and combined completely, take the pan off the heat. Stir again and let cool in pan for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Pour syrup into a strainer that’s sitting over a bowl and with a spoon or rubber spatula, push through until all the syrup is in the bowl. Pour into a mason jar or any jar with a lid. Place in fridge and can keep for up to a week.
